Thanks to the generous donation of $30,000 from Indorama Ventures, Wetland’s Edge Environmental Center (WEEC) is able to continue a free, nationally recognized outdoor classroom experience for 8,600 students of Decatur City Schools.

Spelling Bee

School Spotlight

Walter Jackson Elementary will begin its classroom Spelling Bees on Monday, Dec. 4. The Spelling Bees will last until Wed., Dec. 6. Classroom teachers will sign up for a time to come to the library for Mr. McDonald to administer the Spelling Bees. Please contact your child's classroom teacher for specific date and time. Mr. McDonald will give students who progress to the grade-level and school Spelling Bees with information they will need.
 
Spelling Bee words were passed out before Thanksgiving. If your student needs additional copies, please see Mr. McDonald in the library.
PTO Spotlight Image

PTO Spotlight

PTO will hold a Santa Shop in the library from Dec. 12-14. Students will be able to buy small items that make wonderful holiday gifts for friends and family. All money raised from the Santa Shop will support PTO school initiatives which include technology, books, fields trips, classroom supplies, and other school needs.
